Mom & Baby Classes

Mommy Connections  | Tuesdays July 9 – August 13 10:00 – 11:30 am    

Our mom and baby group gives you the opportunity to connect with other local moms over issues that are important to you while making life-long friends in the process. Bond over one another’s triumphs and challenges and share your experiences in your own “village” of support! Each week of this 8-week program has a theme we will focus on, followed by a presentation from a local expert.

Baby is Coming! Postpartum Planning Workshop

WomanWyse  | Tuesday, June 25 6:30 – 8:30 pm (last workshop until Fall)

This workshop will be facilitated by Ileana Grgic of WomanWyse, Postpartum Doula. It is a highly interactive & productive workshop that will cover 4 major aspects of postpartum life. You will leave this workshop with a plan to prepare you as a couple & a family for:

  • Immediate Postpartum Period
  • A Day in the Life with Your New Baby
  • Communicating Priorities as a Couple

Stress & Anxiety Reduction Classes

Susan Anderson Yoga| Wednesdays June 5, 12, 19, 26 7:00 – 9:30 pm    

The Overcome Anxiety Clinic™ is a natural and holistic approach to reducing anxiety and stress. It is designed for people who are experiencing stress and those who may have, for instance, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder. Each session includes education, gentle yoga (no yoga experience required), and an exploration of using our breath, mindfulness, meditation, mudras, affirmations, guided relaxation and self-regulation to break the psychological, biochemical and physical cycles of anxiety.

Yoga All Levels

Kerry Kotylak  | Thursdays 7:00 – 8:30 pm ($90/10 class pass or $10 drop-in)

These classes are designed to establish a foundation for your yoga practice. This practice of āsanas (postures) includes standing, seated and preparation for backbends and shoulder-stand offering an emphasis on alignment and breath awareness.

 


Postpartum Women’s Circle

Ileana Grgic & Karyn Hughes  | 4th Thursday of the month  11:15 am – 12:15 pm

Join Ileana (Postpartum Doula) and Karyn Hughes (RMT Doula) for this monthly, free, postpartum women’s circle.  This circle welcomes women who are currently mothering babies that are roughly up to the age of 12 months old. It is an opportunity for mothers to come together & to CONNECT. It is a safe & warm place for women to share about the experience of being a mother. This is also a great way to build on your all-important village!

We invite all nursing mamas to join us for our free, monthly La Leche League meeting.‍‍‍‍‍‍ This is an excellent opportunity to get breastfeeding support, but it’s also an amazing way to grow your village by meeting other women who are mothering babies or toddlers in our community.

Infant Massage Class

Taryn Gauley  | TBD

Join Taryn Gauley, RMT in a workshop for parents and caregivers to learn how to give massage to babies (pre-crawling). The workshop is one hour in length where you will learn how to massage baby at home. Massage can be used for: colic, gas, digestion, discomfort, sleep, relaxation and bonding with parents.

**There is use of COCONUT OIL. please make note of allergies**

 


Belly Dance

In a positive and fun atmosphere, learn the beautiful art of belly dancing. Learn the basic moves while toning your core. This class is for all shapes and sizes and abilities. By the end of the session, students will have learned all the basic moves as well as a simple choreography.

Prenatal Yoga

This āsana practice is safe for all stages of pregnancy including the stage of preparation for conceiving. These routines address the needs of a changing body with strong emphasis on alignment, pranayama (breathing techniques) and asanas appropriate to support and/or alleviate discomforts due to pregnancy. Improving and/or maintaining a healthy posture will allow you to breathe easily and keep up with your daily activities.

Expect the use of yoga accessories such as ropes, straps, blocks. A therapeutic approach!!

 


Mom and Baby Yoga

Mom & Baby yoga is an opportunity for mothers to share breath and movement with their infants while nurturing themselves and building community with other mothers. Our focus is on slower gentler movement suitable for post-partum recovery. For mothers whose caregivers have approved a return to exercise and their pre-crawling babies. Some poses can incorporate an awake baby, but please bring whatever makes your baby comfortable, a blanket, small bouncer, or seat, as well as their favourite toy or soother.
